Pittsburgh to host national student architecture conference
Pittsburgh Business Times
The American Institute of Architecture Students has selected Pittsburgh as the location for its 45th annual national conference. More than 500 students are expected to attend the Dec. 29 to Jan. 2 event that will focus on green building design.
Western Pennsylvania has more certified green buildings than any other region in the country, according to the U.S. Green Building Council.
"The fact that we've booked this meeting in Pittsburgh, and that our region leads the country in green buildings, makes a substantial statement about this city's renaissance," said Greater Pittsburgh Convention and Visitors Bureau President Joseph McGrath.
The conference is being hosted by the Carnegie Mellon University chapter of AIAS at the Westin Convention Center Hotel.
