Heinz 2Q earnings up 22 percent

Heinz announced Friday that sales of ketchup, a company staple, helped bolster revenue. The Pittsburgh-based company also benefited from currency hedging.

BNY Mellon to lay off 1,800

CEO Robert P. Kelly said the cuts were necessary to reduce expenses "given the current weakness in the global economy." BNY Mellon remains the Pittsburgh area's third-largest bank in terms of deposits.
